Our story
BBQ the Lockhart family way
If you know the Bolivar area, you probably know the Lockhart family. Natives to southwest Missouri, they have called Bolivar home for more than thirty years, and around here their name means one thing: amazing BBQ.
David and Cindi Lockhart own Curly Que with their son Jake. The three of them grew CQ from a catering business to a food truck to a full restaurant and catering service, and they opened the Bolivar shop in 2017.
Everything here is made from scratch. The BBQ sauce, the ranch, the sides. On weekdays you will find the owners running the smokers and serving guests like family. On weekends they are out serving weddings across the 417.
Curly Que is more than a restaurant. It is an experience rooted in a deep love for BBQ.

Most BBQ plates start at $12 for one meat with two sides. Sandwiches and burgers with fries run about $12–16. Prices can change without notice, so call (417) 777-0004 or check the board when you visit.
Please do. Smoked meat takes time, so the earlier you call the better, especially for weekends. We will have it boxed and ready when you pull up.
